The TTBU Executive is elected every two years.
Any member of the Bargaining Unit may run for a position on the Executive.
In an election year, nominations are submitted no later than 15 days prior to the Annual General Meeting. Candidates are given the opportunity to make a campaign speech at the AGM and to respond to questions asked by attendees at the meeting. The election takes place a week later. Secret ballots are cast in schools and worksites and the entire process is managed by an Election Commission appointed by TTBU Council.
Please see the articles under Bylaw 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 of the TTBU Constitution for a detailed explanation of the election process. A description of the duties of an Executive Officer are detailed under Bylaw 4.1.
