TTBU Executive June 2025 By–elections
With nominations now closed, the Election Commission Committee announces the following information, regarding candidates for the TTBU Executive by-elections, to be held at the TTBU June Council meeting, on June 11, 2025.
For the position of Vice-President, with one candidate to be elected, Rony Masri is the only eligible candidate to have submitted a nomination form, and so is acclaimed to the position.
For the position of Executive Officer, with one candidate to be elected, nominations have been received for:
- Spyridoula Agathos, who can be contacted about their candidacy at tci.osstf@gmail.com
- Maryline Lanteigne, who can be contacted about their candidacy at marylinelanteigne@gmail.com

BIWOC Committee – Blackhurst Cultural Centre Walking Tour
The OSSTF’s BIWOC Committee is inviting 15 members to join a walking tour of the Bathurst and Bloor neighbourhood. Discover the rich Black history of this iconic Toronto area through the Welcome to Blackhurst Street exhibition—an immersive experience featuring archival materials and original artwork. The exhibition traces waves of Black migration, from the Underground Railroad in the 1860s to Caribbean immigration in the 1960s, while celebrating the entrepreneurs, community leaders, and pioneers who helped shape the neighbourhood.
The tour will take place on Thursday, June 12th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Help send a message to the government and our communities that we need properly funded schools. Join OSSTF Toronto Members in a Sign Blitz today, May 29th. Together, we will mainstreet with our Fund Our Schools signs, putting our messaging in storefront windows and sharing key facts about the funding crisis. We are meeting in two locations:
- Lawrence & Midland (Freshco – 2650 Lawrence Ave East) at 3:45 pm
- Yonge and Eglinton (TheSocial Blend – 130 Eglinton Avenue East) at 4:00pm
