Once again, Toronto Teachers exhibited their generosity and holiday spirit by participating in the annual Operation Christmas Cheer (OCC) food and toy drive. Operation Christmas Cheer is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers from various labour organizations. OCC’s mission is to provide families who are on strike or lock-out during the holiday season with food and toys so that they may enjoy the season.

 

This year, despite a snowfall cancelling the STBU Council meeting where most donations are dropped off, Toronto Teachers raised over $800 dollars in gift cards and several boxes of toys. The STBU Executive also donated $300.00 on the behalf of the bargaining unit.
