Members Transporting Student in Their Vehicles

The following excerpts are from a memorandum to all members issued by General Secretary Pierre Cote, February 12, 2015.

 

WE ADVISE MEMBERS NOT TO TRANSPORT STUDENTS. The situation arising from being isolated with students may leave a member vulnerable to allegations of inappropriate conduct.

..in the event of a traffic incident, members’ own insurance will be the primary coverage.

In the case of an accident and an injury… employer liability coverage pays after the employee’s liability coverage is exhausted …
