District General Meeting (DGM)
Per the OSSTF Toronto Constitution, a District General Meeting will be held each year to approve the District Budget. This meeting usually occurs each October. Having a District Budget in place is the first and necessary step to having Bargaining Unit Budgets in place. The date for the DGM will be held in person on Thursday October 19, 2023 at our District Office (1482 Bathurst St. – 4th floor), with a call to order at 4:45 pm.
Registration will take place at the registration desk at the time of the meeting.
Please note that each Bargaining Unit is allocated a specific number of delegates as per their FTE percentage of the District Membership. As such, registration as a voting delegate is on a first come, first serve basis. Those that have registered after exceeding our allotment of delegates may still attend the meeting as an observer.
District Annual General Meeting (DAGM)
The District Annual General Meeting is usually held in June of each year. This is the only meeting at which amendments to the OSSTF Toronto (District) Constitution can be made. The date for the DAGM will be Wednesday June 12 , 2024 (note new date) at the Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre, 4 Credit Union Drive, North York. The call to order is tentatively set for 6 pm.
The deadline for submission of on-time motions to amend the OSSTF Toronto District Constitution is Thursday May 23, 2024 at 4:30 PM (note new date due to meeting date change). Any motions with an associated cost must be accompanied by a reasonable cost estimate, as per Bylaw 13.3.1. Motions are to be sent to Sara DeLuca at (sdeluca@osstftoronto.ca).
