Attention all new contract teachers (first two years) & adult day school teachers:

You are invited to attend the first semester New to our Bargaining Unit Workshop on Thursday October 30th, 2025 at YOUR union offices, 1482 Bathurst Street (at St. Clair), 4th floor (there’s an elevator). 200 metres from St. Clair West subway stop. If driving, there is a Green P parking garage on the south-east corner.

If you are a new contract teachers (2 years or less), you may use a JELI day. Upon registration, you will get instructions on how to access those days. If you are a new Adult Day School teacher, we will release you for the day so you may attend.

The day will include:

• A variety of relevant, timely, and informative workshops presented by your union Executive, including:
  • An Overview of OSSTF
  • Your Collective Agreement & You
  • NTIP: From the Union Perspective
  • Health & Safety in the Workplace
• An opportunity to meet with your Executive Officer assigned to your worksite;
• Representatives from Educators Financial Group, the Ontario Teachers’ Insurance Plan, and our Toronto District Dismantling Anti-Black Racism/Intersectional Oppression Officers will present and be available to interact with.

Lunch is included, along with plenty of swag, prizes, and information for you!

There is no cost to you to participate, and will run from 9am-3pm, with doors opening at 8:30am.

Limited enrolment, first-come, first-served. There will be a repeat session in March 2026. We kindly ask that if you previously attended a workshop in the past, please let another member attend.
