Labour Day

September 5, 2022

Labour Day 2022 will be very powerful as we return to the streets of Toronto after two years.

On Monday, September 5, 2022,we will gather and march in the time-honoured parade route along Queen Street West with tens of thousands of our fellow workers.  The Labour Day theme builds on this year’s 150th anniversary of labour taking to the streets of Toronto.

This year we will also stand with striking OPSEU members who work at the Technical Safety and Standards Authority (TSSA). OPSEU has made its decision, and they are not asking for the parade to  divert from the CNE. Instead, we will use the full strength of the labour movement on Labour Day to send a powerful message to the Ford government that they must get the employer back to the bargaining table.

Please meet at the intersection of of Centre Street and Armoury (section 8) at 9:30am to march with your OSSTF Toronto and other education union comrades. There will be t-shirts and CNE wristbands allowing free entry into the CNE (First-come, first-served – limited quantities)

Following the parade, we will revive the tradition of meeting in person at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West) for lunch. Friends and Family are welcome to attend!
