SUMMARY:New to Our Bargaining Unit - Fall 2025
DESCRIPTION:Attention all new contract teachers (first two years) & adult day school teachers: \nYou are invited to attend the first semester New to our Bargaining Unit Workshop on Thursday October 30th\, 2025 at YOUR union offices\, 1482 Bathurst Street (at St. Clair)\, 4th floor (there’s an elevator). 200 metres from St. Clair West subway stop. If driving\, there is a Green P parking garage on the south-east corner. \nIf you are a new contract teachers (2 years or less)\, you may use a JELI day. Upon registration\, you will get instructions on how to access those days. If you are a new Adult Day School teacher\, we will release you for the day so you may attend. \nThe day will include: \n\nA variety of relevant\, timely\, and informative workshops presented by your union Executive\, including:\n\nAn Overview of OSSTF\nYour Collective Agreement & You\nNTIP: From the Union Perspective\nHealth & Safety in the Workplace\n\n\nAn opportunity to meet with your Executive Officer assigned to your worksite;\nRepresentatives from Educators Financial Group\, the Ontario Teachers’ Insurance Plan\, and our Toronto District Dismantling Anti-Black Racism/Intersectional Oppression Officers will present and be available to interact with.\n\nLunch is included\, along with plenty of swag\, prizes\, and information for you! \nThere is no cost to you to participate\, and will run from 9am-3pm\, with doors opening at 8:30am. \nLimited enrolment\, first-come\, first-served. There will be a repeat session in March 2026. We kindly ask that if you previously attended a workshop in the past\, please let another member attend. \nPlease find resources about NTIP here.
