SUMMARY:Board-Wide School Walk-In
DESCRIPTION:What is a “Walk-In”? \nAround 30 minutes before classes start\, school community members will gather outside the school to demand an end to the attacks on public education. We are calling for a reinvestment in our schools\, children\, and communities.  \nWalk-ins can take many forms depending on your school. It can be a rally\, march\, information table\, even a breakfast. The point is to have one at every school on the same morning\, to build community and to unite people. Especially when Ford wants to divide students from parents from unions. Schools with high participation can organize a rally with speakers and a short march\, and schools that are just beginning to organize can hold an effective outreach morning with a handful of participants. Just before the bell – and after a group picture – parents cheer\, while students and staff enter the school together to start the school day in a show of unity and strength.  \nWalk-Ins for Education are starting to be organized citywide in Toronto\, but we welcome all schools across the province who want to participate!  Walk-ins have been used successfully to win significant gains as part of movements for public education in the USA.
